We think this is going to be a fun event despite the limitations of COVID-19. Maple Valley Rotarians will be hosting small dinner parties in their homes or backyards and the bonus is friends and family can log in from anywhere to join the fun. The virtual auction will use the Greater Giving platform via the internet to conduct the silent and live virtual auctions. There will also be some fun surprise streaming during the event.
SAVE THE DATE and be prepared for an evening of relaxed fun while supporting Maple Valley Rotary’s work throughout the greater community.

Dear Friends,
Since 1985, The Rotary Club of Maple Valley has been honored to work alongside many friends, family, and business owners such as yourself. Over the years, you have graciously sponsored, donated, and volunteered along with us in our efforts to support needed services and projects in our community. We are so incredibly grateful for your generosity.
As we navigate the new reality of a world faced with the life altering pandemic of COVID-19 our members are even more passionate about sustaining service to our community in any way possible. Together we can help meet the challenges that lay ahead and maximize our efforts in making our community whole again.
Our biggest fundraising event is our annual auction. This year, like everything else, it will look much different than in years past. The planning includes a virtual auction on September 25th with the proceeds benefiting our local community service organizations such as the Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services, the Black Diamond Community Center, Back Pack Buddies of Maple Valley, the Greater Maple Valley Community Center and Vine Maple Place.
We have reached out to those community service organizations asking them what the priorities will be in the next couple of years with the seriousness of this pandemic. Here is what we heard:
✓ Keep families in their homes by providing rent/mortgage and utilities
✓ Daily food assistant for all ages including summer lunch programs and holiday meals
✓ Support senior citizens in their own homes to age in place
✓ Facility expansions and repairs to better serve their current and future clients
✓ Mobile services such as laundry, showers, intervention specialists including mental health support
✓ Funding of operations to sustain the organizations, the clients and community groups they serve
The needs are endless – food, vouchers for gas and dairy products; vehicle maintenance, prescription drug assistance, household items, personal care items, back to school supplies, diapers, winter coats, hats, and gloves; the list is ongoing, and the need is growing.
We suspect the challenges you face this year may be far from ordinary also, but perhaps you will still join us in helping provide the much-needed funding for our community organizations and help Maple Valley Rotarians do some heavy lifting with hands-on projects.
